Update as of 11 a.m. on July 26: Water has been restored. Crews expect road closures to be lifted by 3 p.m.

Beginning Friday, July 26, at approximately 1 a.m., Western Water crews identified a pipeline leak in the City of Riverside at Wood Road and Lurin Avenue, which requires a temporary water service interruption impacting 24 customers.

Affected customers have been notified by Western Water and will receive updates on service restoration. As of 7 a.m., the repair time is unknown; however, impact assessments are underway, and updates will be provided when available.

Due to substantial roadway damage caused by the waterline break, Wood Road to Lurin Avenue north of Krameria Avenue will be closed to through traffic to accommodate necessary repair work; motorists can expect detours.

Traffic control measures with advanced warning signs will be in place. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area, follow all traffic control measures, drive with caution through the work area, and plan extra time for travel to their destinations.

Providing customers with consistent delivery of safe, reliable drinking water is a top priority, and Western Water is taking every step to complete the repair work as quickly as possible to restore service to impacted customers.
