A small leak on one of Western’s major water transmission pipelines is in need of emergency repairs. Customer demand will be met through water storage and agreements with other neighboring agencies; however, to help maintain service, dedicated irrigation meters in the Lake Hills and Victoria Grove area have been turned off for the duration of the shutdown, anticipated to take one day. All customers – even those not in the immediate area – are encouraged to suspend outdoor irrigation during this time.
Western staff is working quickly repair the pipe and restore normal service. The issue is a very slow leak within Western’s Mills Gravity Pipeline within the water transmission system. Should the work be completed early, customers will be notified as soon as possible.
WHEN - Wednesday, Oct. 29, with expected repairs to conclude within the day. If the repair is greater than anticipated, the shutdown could go through Oct. 31.
LOCATION - Work is being performed near the intersections of Choi Drive and Pitcairn Street in Riverside. Travel for area residents will not be impeded as the pipeline is located away from the roadway.
