Sterling Pump Station

Western Water provides almost 28 billion gallons of water annually to Riverside County customers, with 60% imported from Northern California. We consistently invest in developing reliable local water supplies that reduce our region's reliance on water from Northern California.

What is the Sterling Pump Station?

The Sterling Pump Station connects the water produced at the Arlington and Chino Desalters to customers throughout Western Water's service area. The Pump Station uses technology to pump water from the desalters uphill through the La Sierra Pipeline, a five-mile, 30-inch underground pipeline built along La Sierra Avenue in Western Water's Riverside service area. The pipeline carries water to the La Sierra Reservoir and then delivers it to Western Water customers.
