WHAT IS FLUORIDE?
Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral used in many dental products to prevent tooth decay by making the enamel more resistant to the action of acids. They accelerate the buildup of healthy minerals in the enamel, further slowing the occurrence of decay. Studies even show that, in some cases, fluoride can stop already-started tooth decay.
DOES WESTERN WATER ADD FLUORIDE TO THE DRINKING WATER?
No, Western Water does not add fluoride to the drinking water system.
IS THERE FLUORIDE IN WESTERN WATER'S SYSTEM?
Yes, since October 2007 the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD) has been adding fluoride to the water it sells to Southern California water agencies, such as Western Water, to control tooth decay.
