How to get started
Registering is easy. To create your My Western Water Portal account, you will need the following information as it appears on your bill:
- Name on the account
- Service address
- Account ID (without the leading zeros)
Example: If your Account ID appears as 0XXXXXX – 00XXXX on your bill, then the account number used for registration is XXXXXX-XXXX.

Signing up for the My Western Water Portal allows you to monitor your water usage in near real-time, set thresholds to manage consumption, manage multiple meters from one account, and set up alerts when you’re out of town. It’s a convenient way to stay informed about your water usage and identify opportunities to save water, and money.
Customers are billed in 100 cubic feet (HCF). My Western Water Portal displays water usage in cubic feet and gallons. See the conversions below to help review your water usage.
- 1 HCF = 748 gallons
- 1 cubic foot = 7.48 gallons of water, as shown on your Western Water bill.
Your water use data is updated daily, providing you with near real-time information to help you monitor and manage your water use effectively.
My Western Water Portal is available exclusively to customers with a smart meter. Western Water is continually upgrading water meters throughout the district. Customers with smart meters can access neat real-time water usage tracking and monitoring features.
Customers can access the portal using the latest versions of Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Safari for optimal performance and compatibility.
If you encounter an error while setting up your account, please check for the following common issues:
Incorrect Account ID: Ensure you are entering both the customer and account number as shown on your bill, with no leading zeros. For example, 00XXXX-00XXXXXX would be XXXX-XXXXXX.
Name and Address Accuracy: Your name and address must match exactly as they appear on your bill.

An increase in water usage could be due to higher activity levels or a potential leak. Inspect for leaks, review recent water-related activities, and log in to your portal account for detailed usage information.

You’ve set an out-of-town alert and noticed unusual activity. Here’s what to do next:
- Check your portal account for unusual activity.
- Connect with a family member or friend and walk them through turning off the water to your home if needed.
- Contact Customer Service at 951.571.7104 for additional support.

On the left side of the portal page, click on "Alerts."
- Setting Usage Threshold Alert: Enter water usage and select "Enabled."
- Setting Out of Town Alert: Enter date range and water usage, and select "Enabled."
You can find correlations between water use and billing by comparing your usage history on the portal with your billing statement. You can access your billing statement at WesternWaterCA.gov/BillPay.
Registration is required if you haven't created a Billing Portal account.
